| Description: | Buz Scheimer, our father, opened Dormont Appliance Center shortly after he got out of the Navy after WWII. He opened it in the neighborhood where he grew up. His first customers were all people from the neighborhood. Throughout his career he treated each and every person that came into his store as though they were a friend and neighbor. In fact, he never failed to offer his customers a soda or a cup of coffee when they came in to see him. Because Buz was outgoing and unassuming, most of the people that he dealt with didn’t even realize that he owned the store. | |||
